REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES FOR
WOMEN IN AVIATION ALAMO CITY CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarship applications must be emailed or postmarked by July 31, 2023.
Applicants must be a member of Women in Aviation International prior to application submittal. WAI membership number must be included and will be verified.

Women in Aviation Alamo City Chapter will be awarding one $1000 scholarship to applicants interested in careers in aviation and aerospace. Applicants must be attending or have been accepted into a college, university, technical school or flight school for the 2023 Fall session, if scholarship is awarded, the money will be sent directly to the school.
These requirements are the minimum for the scholarship unless otherwise indicated. Please include the following information:

Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Scholarship may be applied for by mail (WAI Scholarship, ATTN: Olga Custodio, 26 Granburg Circle, San Antonio, TX 78218) or electronically through the WAI Alamo City Chapter (sanantonio@waichapters.org, Subject: Scholarship.)
Do not apply electronically and mail a paper application for the scholarship.
Should you wish to print out the application form and submit your application on paper, all application materials can be submitted in the same envelope.

- Two one-page recommendation letters
- Typed, descriptive 250-word essay
- Professional resume (if applicable)
- Official transcripts or verification for GPA
- Copies of all aviation and medical certificates and the last three pages of your pilot logbook (if applicable).
- Descriptive essay and resume should address the following:
- your aviation history and goals
- what you have done for yourself to achieve your goals
- where you see yourself in five years
- how the scholarship will help you achieve your objective and your present financial need
- flight or other training/education for which you need assistance; how your previous training was financed
- educational scholarships, awards, and honors
- where you would obtain the training and the hourly rate for the instructor, aircraft, and simulators, or other costs (if applicable)
- demonstrated involvement in aviation activities
